Anuradhapura is the largest district in Sri Lanka with the area size of over 7,179 km. It is about 648 ft above sea level and you get healthy weather throughout the year. Roads are very much flatted and carpeted and unlike earlier days, its only 3 hours drive from Katunayake airport to Anuradhapura. There are many tourist arrivals after peace and visit historical & sacred places in the UNESCO Heritage city.
Bicycle is the most valuable vehicle and it is very much useful for their day to day work. In this agricultural economy it is the cheapest as there are no fuel needed and possible to get in to any destination. Since there are wider flat roads, most of tourists are enjoying with bicycle rides. We have seen many of Shanthi Hotel guests get together as a group and they visit all sites by riding. We have mountain bikes for hire daily basis at a very nominal charge and guests could reserve them at the time of reservation as well. Its a very good exercise, excursion and enjoyment for families and everybody.
